Spot melanoma early at our skin cancer clinic in Auckland

New Zealand’s skin cancer rates are among the highest in the world. Even in winter, UV radiation from the sun is high enough to cause UV damage and skin cancer. Our Auckland mole check clinic uses MoleMap’s proven three-step system. Get a thorough skin check by a melanographer—with the assistance of the latest AI technology. Suspicious moles are digitally imaged and assessed for early signs of skin cancer. Any ‘at risk’ moles are sent to an accredited dermatologist for expert diagnosis.

“At my annual full body skin exam, the melanographer found a small pin-sized spot on my ear and recommended I have it examined further. It turned out to be cancerous. If it wasn’t for MoleMap, it would have gone unnoticed.”

Your questions, answered

Where can I go to get a mole check in Auckland?

GPs, dermatologists, nurse specialists, melanographers, and surgeons can perform skin checks. If your GP spots a suspicious lesion, it’s likely you will be referred to a specialist for diagnosis. At MoleMap, our skin cancer clinics are run by melanographers—health professionals with additional training in the early detection of melanoma and other skin cancers. If a suspicious mole is spotted during a skin check, images are sent to an accredited dermatologist for diagnosis. This helps ensure the greatest accuracy and streamlines your journey to treatment—if needed.

What services does a skin cancer clinic offer?

Most skin cancer clinics perform comprehensive skin assessments, education on skin cancer prevention, biopsies, as well as skin cancer treatment. If skin cancer treatment is not provided, they can refer to an appropriate medical professional. Several MoleMap skin check clinics offer skin cancer treatment. Talk to one of our friendly staff to find out more. Call us on 0800 665 362 or book your skin check online.

How much is a skin check at Auckland MoleMap?

The cost of your skin check will depend on the type of service you choose. At our skin cancer clinic Auckland, our most comprehensive mole check is our Full Body MoleMap. This includes full body imaging and ongoing, proactive skin monitoring. It is recommended for anyone with a medium to high risk of getting melanoma. For people with low risk or who have spotted a new or changing mole, we suggest having a SkinCheck (there's the option to have it with or without total body imaging). For more information on the pricing and what's included, visit our SkinCheck or Full Body MoleMap pages. Don’t know your skin cancer risk? Take our quick risk quiz to find out.
