What are the early signs of melanoma?
Melanoma is the most serious type of skin cancer, as it can quickly spread. Yet, if it’s detected and treated early, the chance of a successful outcome is higher. Important changes in your skin to look for include:
- colour — you may notice a mole has changed in colour or become blotchy
- size — a mole change in size, typically growing bigger
- shape — you may have a mole that’s irregular in shape and may not be symmetrical
- elevation — a mole may develop a raised area
- itching or bleeding
