Which mole check at MoleMap skin cancer clinic Hawera is right for me?
Full Body MoleMap is our most comprehensive skin cancer detection service. It includes an entire-body skin assessment along with total body photography and individual mole plotting. Potentially ‘at risk’ lesions will be proactively monitored over time. This means any changes will be quickly spotted. You also get unlimited free spot checks and re-imaging for 12 months, should you notice something new. This mole check service is ideal if you’re at medium to high risk of skin cancer. It helps you to track and monitor your skin for early signs of skin cancer.
SkinCheck is a thorough, point-in-time head-to-toe assessment of your moles. Atypical lesions are imaged and sent for dermatologist diagnosis. This service is ideal if you have a small number of moles and want the reassurance that your skin is healthy. Or, if you’ve spotted a suspicious mole and want it checked out fast.
SkinCheck+ includes all the features of the SkinCheck, with the added benefit of full body photography. This gives you a baseline record of your skin, making it easier to see changes.

What happens if a suspicious mole is detected at my Hawera skin check?
If a suspicious mole is detected during your visit to MoleMap skin cancer clinic Hawera, it will be dermoscopically imaged and sent for dermatologist diagnosis. If skin cancer is suspected, a biopsy will usually be recommended. This is a minor surgical procedure carried out under local anaesthetic. A small sample of tissue is removed for testing. The skin sample is looked at under a microscope to check for skin cancer.
