Who’s the best person to perform a mole check in Taupo?
GPs, dermatologists, specially trained health professionals, and surgeons can provide mole checks. The best person is the clinician you feel most comfortable with. If your GP spots a suspicious lesion, they may refer you to a skin specialist or skin cancer doctor for diagnosis. MoleMap skin cancer checks are provided by melanographers. These are health professionals with additional training in the early detection of melanoma and other skin cancers. If a suspicious mole is detected it is digitally imaged and, using AI, cross-checked against our world-class image database. Moles of concern are sent to an accredited dermatologist for diagnosis. This ensures the greatest accuracy and streamlines your journey to treatment—if needed.
