SkinCheck

Is this right for me?
I have a high number of moles, previous sun damage or a family/personal history of skin cancer. I want a baseline of images to track and monitor
I have a small number of moles, but I want the peace of mind that my skin is healthy. Plus, I want a full body record of my skin to use at my next professional or DIY skin check.
I have a small number of moles, but I do want to quickly check out a new or suspicious spot. And I want the reassurance of a dermatologist diagnosis.

Our experienced melanographer performs a thorough skin check from your scalp to the soles of your feet (and even between your toes). This means no spot goes unchecked.
Dermoscopic (that is, under the skin) imaging and mole plotting of high-risk or suspect-looking moles

A non-invasive, safe, and painless way to closely ‘check out’ suspicious lesions with modern technology. This allows us to see signs of cancer before it’s visible to the naked eye, assisting with early and accurate diagnosis. It also means fewer scares (and scars), as it reduces unnecessary biopsies and removals of benign moles — just in case!
AI-assisted diagnostic technology

AI-driven technology, along with our world-leading database of images, allows us to identify high risk moles by comparing your mole to thousands of others we’ve diagnosed previously.

A high-resolution digital camera is used to capture 24-28 images of your skin, from head to toe. These images act as a reference to track, compare and monitor new and existing moles over time. This means any changes are spotted quickly.

Your questions, answered

What are the warning signs of skin cancer?

Plus Iconminus Icon

The warning signs of skin cancer can vary. But a key warning sign of melanoma is a new or changing mole. If we’re talking about a new mole, it’s likely it will look different from the other spots on your body. When spotting changes to an existing mole, look for:

  • A mole with an irregular shape
  • A spot with an uneven or raised border
  • A mole that changes in colour
  • A lesion that appears to have grown

Is it a sunspot or skin cancer?

Plus Iconminus Icon

Think you have a sunspot, but wondering if it might be skin cancer? Let’s face it, our bodies have lots of spots, bumps and lumps. Most of which are harmless. However, not all seemingly harmless spots should be ignored.

One major difference between sunspots and skin cancer is that sunspots mostly appear on areas of the skin that have been exposed to the sun—like the hands, face, and arms. Skin cancer on the other hand can develop anywhere on the body—even areas that have had very little sun exposure.

Find out how to differentiate a sunspot from skin cancer. And don’t forget to make the most of your local MoleMap skin check clinic. As the saying goes…if in doubt, check it out!

How do I know if I need a skin cancer detection service?

Plus Iconminus Icon

There are different types of melanoma, each with different features. To an untrained eye, it can be very hard to spot melanoma. Particularly as some types of melanoma can look much like any other freckle or spot.

This is why we recommend regular skin checks - even if you’re not at high risk of skin cancer. With a regular skin cancer examination, you can track your moles and see when anything changes.
